Become a Feral Cat Caretaker

We get numerous phone calls/emails weekly from members of the community that have feral or semi-social cats in their neighborhood that need to be removed.  When Two Left Paws is able, we will Trap, Neuter and find relocation homes for these cats (if young enough we will attempt socializing them to be adopted into new homes).

However, we regularly run out of suitable outdoor homes for the feral and/or semi-social cats we are called about and therefore not always able to help. Being able to trap, neuter and release these cats is the only way we can reduce the overall cat population!

We are always looking for new homes for these outdoor cats to be cared for.  If you are able/willing to provide a few basics, maybe becoming a feral cat caretaker is for you!

These cats are ideal residents for stables or barns!  These cats are:

1) Altered (spayed or neutered)

2) Vaccinated

3) Feline Leukemia and FIV tested

Caretaker Responsibilities include:

1) Providing daily food and water

2) Providing protection from the elements

3) Providing long term veterinary care (beyond what Two Left Paws initially provides)

Be prepared for a brief period of adjustment. Moving to a new home is stressful for anyone, cats included! After a short stay in secure confinement, the cats will accept their new home and may be chasing mice out of your grain or yard with enthusiasm.
